pasted from WHT:

Hello,

After reading a recent review on them , i thought i could write a bit on my own too.

I was with them quite some time now, on 2 servers neptune and saturn.

I before i went with dotable i was with some national hosting compnies, + sonataweb, dathorn.

now lets get back to the review.

1. Website etc. , not really my kind of thing ( i would do it different but its not my company) , it works and servs it purpose i suppose , they have forums with support etc.

2. Servers - i've been on on 2 of them , and never ever had any bigger issue, and i have fairly resource hungry sites, the servers were running fast or at least fine. Never had any issues with them, i have more than 1000 ppl/day visit my sites and never had a complaint - and i dont sit and watch the server load levels in cpanel, i have better things to do really.

3. Uptime - uptime is ok, there were 2-3 outages i noticed, but not often and not terribly long - most times those were caused with ISP lines in colo center.

4. Support - i dont request support often, but i never had unresolved issue, and most of my problems wasnt "top" priorty. I can solve lots of isssues by myself. some ppl claimed that few tickets are answered slowly, maybe i have luck , but it was often within minutes . and dotable do backups

I read that dotable steve can be rude. Thats is not true, its the same i read about andrew thorton of dathorn - same untrue. When i contact someone with need of fixing some stuff for me i expect them to do so, noting more or less . I dont care how nice they are and how much they say they like me. Its business after all, i dont give a f*ck about politeness, i try to treat ppl fair and expect the same - thats all.

Steve did some truly great things for me he did not need to do on shared hosting - like upgraded postgresql on my request , i always got some good advice on problems when i needed it - that goes for all dotable team.

Noobish users - you would not last a month in dathorn if you cant get your act toghether - i liked that in dathorn very much , servers were fast, stable and i felt secure there ;-) You get hacked you can get bailed out easly. In dotable staff is really more forgiving there, so i cant understand the complaints on the service - and the service is ok. unless you request some stupid replication or try to do 3 separate database connections in 1 script ( belive me i saw things like that ).

I like what steve does on dotable , its what i'd expect to receive from quality company. He's tha man when it comes to administration and is fun to talk to on IM ;-), never had issues with him. but on the other hand i dont sit and masturbate to new cpanel skin .... oh how great it looks... im more interested why we still dont have all tools to administrate postgresql ( CPANEL - guys ? where is the database encoding setting , or remote ip conenction ? WTF? you are lazy mates , some of us actually use it ). I can sit on forums and pretend i dont have a private life, and chat about nothing, ( pretend im so nice and polite etc. )but most of us work hard, run businesess, fight to be the best in our areas. And dotable is the place you can put your business, and sleep well. and i dont really like *** licking, i treat other professionally and dead serious. I got the same from dotable and thats why i like them . Some ppl just dont like when they hear the truth.

my overall score for dotable ? 8 / 10 - why so low? there is always some room to improve
