Setting up domains in your WHM
-
This is a walk through
of setting up new domains in your Dotable.com WHM.
(4). Then complete the following form, setting up the new domain. Live demo here.
Important notes -
Very important - When you create domains in your WHM account, be sure to
setup that domain with a STRONG password. NEVER and I repeat
NEVER use the password that is the same as the username. HUGE mistake
there that leaves the server vulnerable to spammer and the likes thereof.
A password should be a minimum of 8 characters and contain a combination
of lower and upper case letters, numbers and symbols. So a strong password
looks something like this - Hk6G^tg*Fgf5 and not like this -
mary The following information will appear if all was done correctly -
The
following is a brief rundown of your new account - Dotable.com SERVER-IP as follows - Mercury
server - 72.34.35.3 Your
server that your account is placed on is in your Dotable.com welcome
email. Mercury server clients -
ns3.dotable.com &
ns4.dotable.com You can access your site while your domain name resolves over to our Dotable.com servers by accessing http://SERVER-IP/~yourusername. After your domain name has resolved [this can take up to 48hrs], your site will be accessible at http://www.yourdomain.com. |
|
I cannot access my WHM - (1). Make sure that you're using the right path to your WHM. The path should be http://IPaddress/whm. That information was given to you in your Dotable.com welcome email. (2). Also make sure that you're using the correct username and password. Usernames and passwords are case sensitive, when accessing your WHM. You can access the secure WHM by using https://IPaddress:2087, or you can access the non-secure WHM by using http://IPaddress/whm. The IP address is given to you in the Dotable.com welcome email. If you still can't access your WHM, then you might be behind a firewall that is not allowing you access to the WHM port on our server. You'll need to contact your network admin, if this is the case. If you're still having problems after that, send in a ticket to the Dotable.com Helpdesk, and we'll look into it. |
|
How can I delete domains in my
WHM? You can delete domains from your Dotable WHM account, using the "Terminate an Account" function. Be sure that the deletion process has fully completed, before moving onto something else in your WHM. |
|
Setup a domain with a
dedicated IP - Your main WHM domain comes already setup with a dedicated IP address. You have a total of 5 dedicated IP address at your disposal. If you would like a dedicated IP assigned to an existing domain in your WHM, send in a ticket to the Dotable.com Helpdesk, and let us know which domain it is that you'd like be assigned with a dedicated IP address, and we'll take care of that for you. If you require additional IP addresses, beyond your 5 free IPs, they cost $1/IP/mth. Please note that dedicated IPs need to be justified, and cannot be given to a domain without a valid reason. Valid reasons include SSL certificates. |

Editing features of your domains
-
If you want to edit the
features of domains, you can edit the disk space for each domain with the
following link in your WHM - "Quota Modification". You can then edit the
data transfer for each domain in your WHM at the link - "Limit Bandwidth
Usage". |
|
If a domain exceeds its bandwidth
limit -
When one of your
domains exceeds (goes over) the bandwidth (transfer) limit: (2). Then click the "Suspend or Unsuspend An Account" in your WHM, and if the domain is suspended, unsuspend it. There could be a 10 to 20 minute delay, from when you increase the bandwidth and to when it becomes active again. Be sure to check your domains daily, to make sure they don't go over their limits and you end up having to wait like this. If you're still having issues with this, send in a Support ticket to the Dotable.com Helpdesk. |
|
If a domain exceeds its space
quota -
When one of your accounts exceeds (goes over) the amount of space you
gave it the following happens: If you're still having issues with this, send in a Support ticket to the Dotable.com Helpdesk. |
