Quick Question or two...

I've been browsing these forums for sometime now, And i'm very close to signing up but just have a few questions:

1) Do you support .me.uk domains? I don't mean register them I mean host them.

2) Would a service such as http://www.tinyurl.com/ be acceptable on your servers? i'm currently developing my own service which will have content filtering etc etc so abuse issues are something i take seriously.

3) As well as upgrading accounts can you downgrade as and when needed also?

2. I take it you will be providing the service to clients, hosting the 'tinyurldomain.com' on our servers and your clients would use that to access their pages hosted elsewhere?

That in theory is fine, as long as it's not used by spammers and other abusive purposes. You'd have to manage that really well but we'd host it. Obviously our spamming policy does not permit us to host sites that generate a lot of spam complaints. It's really up to yourself how you mitigate that. You'd have the same issue, no matter where you hosted.

So thats a 'maybe'

Well the software i'm writing will be a self learning peice of software as well as being manually controlled.

It's currently designed to block all the well known adult/illegal sites on the internet, need to make a few tweaks to the code to make it so that people can't get around it.

My abuse policy and spam policy will be very visible with all ip addresses logged too a database on every request to create a url, URL's that gather a lot of intrest very quickly will also be flagged up by the system in order to fight spam so for example if someone created a url and then 5 minutes later sent out a mass spam with the url and the system saw the massive spike it would be flagged up or even blocked until an administrator verifies that it's nothing illegal.

The creation process will also require a valid email account to verify the creation, it's something that's been given a lot of thought and time.

So I'm sure there won't be any issues if there is I will work with you on making sure they are resolved properly.

We won't have any issues with the site as long as you maintain it properly, which sounds like you will.
