Default moving from voxtreme?

i'm thinking about changing over from voxtreme. i've been very happy with them (content, rather) for a few years, but their downtime lately is absurd. i've got a handful of pissed off clients, and i can never get a timely response on any critical help tickets. when i DO report that my sites are down AGAIN, someone just replies (hours later) that they needed to reboot the server or something. anyway, someone mentioned dotable on the voxtreme board. i remember the aussie bob name from back in the day, so it seemed more comfortable for me to follow in that direction (rather than try out some company i've never heard of until today).

i know this is probably the most overasked question in the world, but i've got probably 20-30 sites on my account and a few forums. would it be an easy move over, esp with the databases? does it REALLY make a difference that i'm in the states?

another weird thing. i signed up on this board with the username haley and an email name@mydomain.com, but i never got the confirmation email. i eventually had to just sign up with a new username and an att.net email address if i wanted permissions to post. this has happened on a few forums lately when i try to use one of my domain emails. could this have ANYTHING to do with my domain's email servers or hosting company?

Haley

Yes, we can move your sites over from the Voxtreme server, to the Dotable server. We'd need a list of domains, usernames and passwords, in this fashion -

domain | username | password

We then transfer over each domain to the Dotable server, config your WHM account, and dispatch your Dotable welcome email. We do a lot of these incoming migrations, and they're usually very smooth.

Sing out if you want to get started.

Maybe your email that you signed up with was down?

sure wasn't! and it only happens if i use name@mydomain.com emails. i have the same problem with hgtv/diynetwork boards and another forum i signed up for earlier this week. i eventually just give up and use an att.net or gmail account. everything runs smoothly from there on. oddest thing.

It's always a good idea to use an email address for forums and support desks with web hosts *other than* one attached to your domain Haley. Otherwise if there's an announcement about a network issue or server being down for whatever reason you won't get it

Got any spam filters running on that domain?

It is also possible that a recent update to cPanel that turned on sender verification is rejecting those emails for some reason. This has been causing trouble all over the place recently.

Oh, and a premature welcome to you from a happy Dotable customer.
