Talking Dedicated Servers?

Hi Bob (and Steve),

Is dotable going to offer fully managed dedicated servers and/or VPS's?

Cheers!

Heh.. I'm on post #4 now. I feel like a newbie dweeb.

I've been looking for some diversification options recently, and it suddenly hit me that Bob is likely running a quality shop over here... and it looks like I was right. I'm glad to see a few people I recognize, and that Bob is once again pushing the forum/community model. Excellent!

I just wanted to make sure that we can "scale up" when it's needed, etc.. VPS's are good, but any reason why not dedicated servers, too?

Hi Jimbob,

Rob didn't say never - he said "not for a fair while".

You should know how Rob works by now - grow a little, perfect the service, grow a little more - "slow and steady"

We're going to take the community model to the next step, and run it as the site. That's the platform I pioneered and mastered with httpme, and know it works, know how to work it etc. It's a full_on platform that works for the client and the management.

Slow and steady does it. Steve's bringing online both windows and Linux VPS over the next 3mths. Dedicateds will be offered, but not for a while. I can't give an ETA as to when. If you're subscribed to the Dotable announcement forum, you'll know when, when we announce them. They would definently only be offered to existing Dotable clients, or folks like you that we know and trust.

Sounds good Bob. Thanks! It's hard to believe it's been over 4 years since I first 'met' you. Time sure flies! You've had like what, 7 kids since then, and I'm just now getting ready for my first?

heh.
