Default Potential Customer

Hello,

Been a Bluewho customer for over 3 years now and while they have been generally great there has been an increase in performance issues and outages. I also need some additional resources and getting them from BW would put me over my budget. While dotable is a little light in the disk space catagory the fact that is running raid, CA based racks, AUD pricing and has Aussie Bob behind it are big bonuses.

Anyway I do have a few questions before I convert, I hope you bear with me I'm not an expert in these matters.

1. Does Dotable provide the XController cPanel skin? I have had numerous requests for this skin.

2. What type of impact does the backups have on the server. And if there is one how long do these take?

3. Does Dotable publish information on how many clients it puts on each server?

4. One re-occuring issue I have had in the past is log files, stats, e-mail files etc... that keep growing over time. Has this been a problem with Dotable customers and how is this addressed?

5. If I sign up today will I go on one of the new opteron servers?

Thank you for your time

No.

Do you mean the backups that cpanel automatically runs, or the backups that you can run?

Around 35 to 40, depending on the size of each account.

It's never been an issue.

No, you would go on the Mars server.

Bob,

Thank you for answering my questions. Here are some clarifications.

1. Is this something I can install?
2. I'm referrering to the automated daily backups that are run automatically.

again thanks!

You can purchase the Xcontroller cpanel skin, but I can't even see on their site where they sell it. Maybe they discontinued development? :unno:

Cpanel's backups can spike the loads a tad. There's nothing we can about that, short of stopping the cpanel backups from running.

After looking at Xcontroller it seems this isn't a very rock solid panel so I think best to avoid it.

I totally understand the spike and realize its a fact of life. But I've been on a few hosts which this was much more then a spike so its always a concern with me.

One other question I forgot (there may be a few of these = ), but would you guys install things for us? For example I use LFTP (http://lftp.yar.ru/) in a script which I run with a cron to do a mysqldump of my db's, tar them up then send them to a remote server for additonal backup. Would something like this be requested?

Thanks!
