Im thinking of moving, well not thinking but moving for sure, my current host is too slow.
1. The host Im on doesnt have Cpanel, so I dont expect you guys can help me to move the fine, that's fine tho, but Im wondering about the domain. When I change host, I need to edit the nameserver rite? So my site will be unreachable in 24-48 hours, is that correct? Is there any way to avoid it? 2. Our site is a small-medium forum with 3000 members, over 1000 unique visits/day, 15000 pageviews per day, and max 50 members online at the same time. With our current usage, we may need your 4dots package, I dont need anything special except for the speed, it must be FAST, omg I hate the loading. So franly speaking, do you think your host can handle this medium forum Fast? Thanks so much. |

Hi,
Not an official answer, but I think I can help a little. ![]() You should be able to move your site with no downtime. You would duplicate your site at both hosts but point both forums to the database at Dotable, then make the nameserver change. Whilst the change was propogating, no matter which host users were directed to the database would always be current. Sometimes heavily loaded forums are not suitable for shared hosting environments, but with the spec of the Dotable shared servers your forum may run fine. Over to Aussie Bob for an answer on that one...

Sorry for taking so long to respond here. I saw the thread, and then got sidetracked onto something else.
