Hi James,

I recently moved my hosting to Dotable, and I'm on Mars. The server is fantastic - very quick and responsive!

Oops, just noticed that if you're planning on ordering a Dotable account around the end of this month, you'll probably be going on the Saturn server, given current signup rates.

Saturn is a 2U Dual Core Dual Opteron 270 (4x2.0ghz) with 4GB RAM and 4 x 250GB 10k raptor drives, racked in our Carrier Central LA cabinet.

These next servers (Saturn and Neptune) were just bought today and will be racked in our CC cabinet within the week. They're beasts.

Thank you for your reply Bob.
Any reason for Opterons rather than Xeons? (other than theyre cheaper).
Counting those days down till we move somewhere (hopefully here!).
Hang on I just re-read that, am I right in thinking this has 4 processors?
Thanks
James

These dual core dual proc Opteron 270s pack a LOT of punch, especially with intensive db processing, which a lot of sites these day use.

These dual core Opteron 270s cost 25% more than our previous Dual XEONs, so they're not cheaper servers by any means.

Just drop a ticket into the Dotable helpdesk, with the list of domains, usernames and passwords, and we'll migrate those domains over to the Dotable Mars server.
