Hi there!
I'm currently checking some web hosts for a possible "emergency move" and dotable comes highly recommended pretty much everywhere I look. I'm happy with my current host, but there has been a recent stream of problems that got me somewhat concerned, so I'm checking out alternatives if the need to move out arises (ie, if the problems aren't solved). I need to know a couple of things, though... 1. Do you support Java Applets? One of the accounts I'm hosting is for a small game studio that makes Java games and I also have some Java games that I did in my personal site, so being able to have people play'em is a must. 2. Regarding the transfer, the fact that my current host uses MySQL 5 and you use 4 will be a problem? I'd need the transfer to be as smooth and fast as possible, so I'm not sure if that messes up the possibilities of doing that automatic transfer from cpanel to cpanel... That's all for now.

Hmmm... too bad, then.
Isn't there some way to move everything first and "overwrite" the databases with converted versions that I'd supply (using the "export for mysql 4" option in phpmyadmin)? Or best option is finding a decent mysql5 host? |

If you do bring a MySQL 5 db over, then you're basically on your own with converting it back to MySQL 4.
Best thing to do is find a host that will support your MySQL 5 requirements.

Pedro, You might want to follow this instructions.
http://blog.arabx.com.au/?p=81 If you have shell access to the host, everything will be easier. |
