Lightbulb Considering a move here..

Howdy,

Recently had a bit of trouble with my current host (*roar*) and in drastic need of a change. I've heard good things about Dotable so decided to call in. I'm looking for some information before I make the move;

Website Transfer - Would it be possible for me to transfer my current websites over without the help of my current host? (No contact from them what-so-ever). I was thinking, set up packages and domains in WHM, then via the CPanel for each account, restore 'Home' & 'MySQL' backups taken from the previous host.

I've never did this before so I'm unsure as to whether it's as smooth sailing as it sounds. Also, one of my websites is running a IPB v1.3 forum, would this transfer over ok via the same method?

Nameservers - I have two custom nameservers with my current host. What’s the deal if I wanted to keep these and bring them along to Dotable with me? Is that possible without getting previous host involved?

Thanks
Darren

You can upload full cpanel backups to the Dotable server, and we'll restore them for you. That's the most accurate way of moving domains from server to server, if we can't get root access to your current server.

Yep, no worries at all.

We give you new IPs to assign to those 2 nameservers, and requests for your domains will then resolve to your account at Dotable.

Sing out when you want to get started. We can have you setup in minutes.

3 minutes! I can see my future here already!

Lets hope that special limited time offer hangs around for another day or two, will sort out my websites and give members the move warning, then all going well sign-up here and get everything moved over.

Busy weekend this weekend, I'd like to aim for a signing/move early week. Getting late/early here, will sleep on this and see Dotable in a few days.
