Questions about Dotable - Dotable

Hi,

I'm considering starting with a single host account to try out your service.

Some questions:

- With regard to AWStats, do you allow manual updates from CPanel?

- Are you able to set my account to show resolved domains for AWStats instead of IP addresses (for the list of "Last visits" under "hosts")???

- Are your servers in the same Los Angeles facility as HTTPme??

- Does your version of Fantastico currently install Wordpress 2.5?

Are the first two "no's" due to server issues?

Is showing resolved domains that much of a resource hog?

Awstats uses the GeoIP plugin now to resolve domains to IP's - So that does indeed work on Dotable servers.

Doing reverse dns lookups on IP addresses (The old way) more than doubles the time the stats take to process, so it's a balancing act. The GeoIP plugin for awstats is pretty good, so the reverse dns lookups aren't really needed anymore.

Dave,

Geoip is enabled on all the servers, scroll down to the bottom of the awstats page and you should see

"Advanced Web Statistics 6.7 (build 1.892) - Created by awstats (plugins: geoipfree)"

Hi Steve,

I see the Geoip notation at the bottom of the page on my AWStats, but my stats page still lists the raw IPs, not the resolved ones.

Is there something I need to trigger in my account?

No, nothing else is needed on your part, it should display countries as well - their will be raw ip output, as not all countries can be detected by ip. If you see country flags within your stats, your stats are working correctly.
