Default Moving site (c

I currently host a couple of domains with a company that consists of morons. No, I really mean it: Pure idiots. The largest idiot is of course myself, for signing up...

Anyway, I'm one of those guys that have a domain or two of my own, and host a couple of sites for friends and family. Nothing big, just personal sites, photo galleries, blogs, etc.

My main site, patashnik.com, is the result of some "creative" use of different scripts: Pixelpost, Wordpress and some mobile blogging thingy. How I managed to set it up, I can't really remember. The important thing is: It's working! But, alas, my dimwit host isn't (for extended periods of time). I currently use cPanel and WHM for my reseller account.

So, how easy is it for you to move a complete web site from one host to another? I really want to sign up with Dotable (and I'm sure I will!), but I'm just trying to figure out how much work is involved. I guess there will be some tidying up to do, considering database prefixes might change, and file paths will change. Anything else I need to worry about?

It's straight forward. We just need that domain, username and password, and we transfer that site over to the Dotable server. There's smoke and mirrors involved, and I get to wear a cape, so it's all cool.

No, nothing will change. You're coming from a cpanel server, over to another cpanel server. It's a quick and painless migration over.

Sing out if you need anything else.

So it's actually one of those things that follows the principle "If it works there, it will work here"?

I can't believe it... I feel like crying...

Get the tissues out.

Yes, all your paths and db names will stay the same, when you come accross to our server. It's cpanel to cpanel, so it's all smooth as.

OK, I'm signing up! One question: In the order wizard I get this information:

Main Package Dot 1:
1-Month @ AUD24.95 + Setup: FREE
Package(s) Total AUD24.95
Package(s) Prorated (This Month Pro-Rated 30 days) AUD24.95
Sub Total AUD49.90
Total Due AUD49.90

I guess this means I'm paying for two months, but I'm not sure...?

That's the pro-rata billing system in action there. It's the first of the mth, so it's pro-rataing the remainder of this mth, and then adding the next mth on. Doesn't work so good at the beginning of the mth.

Let me make some changes to that pro-rata config . . .

Ok, try it now. It won't pro-rata this mth + the next mth. It should just invoice for this mth.
