Pre-sales Questions

Hello,

I apologize if this is posted in the wrong area but I do not see a pre-sales forum.

After almost 5 years with a current hosting provider, it looks like it's time to move on after the company recently switched operations to another party and it has been a nitemare. So I am shopping for a new provider that can handle my VB forums and provide me with quality support (rarely use) and more importantly, uptime. So my questions are;

Concurrent MYSQL connection limits? Are there set limits or do you simply monitor heavy use sites?

Website and database transfer? While I see this is mentioned, I thought I would ask anyways to be sure. My current host uses cPanel so there would be no problem transfering my site and forums to a Dotable server?

Credit card processor? Who do you use?

We have the following connection limits.

max_user_connections=100
max_connections=750

We also monitor heavy sites, or runaway or abusive scripts.

We can transfer your current sites from your existing server, to your WHM account here. No worries at all.

Dotable uses a merchant account through St George Bank, with eWay.com.au as the gateway, and Modernbill as the backend management.

No need to be worried Bob. I'm not a script kiddi (nor a kid for that matter) and only need hosting for my VB Forum and would only need one website (small) transfered. See... I'm not that difficult.

Normally, I only have about 30 or so users online during peak hours. Generally, about 15 so the connection limits look fine.

If I were to order a plan and took the 3 months option, do I still get the "SPECIAL LIMITED TIME OFFER?" Also, would I be able to use my forums using the temp address you'd supply until my domain change takes effect? My site is having big troubles and I'd like members to be able to continue to make posts while not losing any during the transition. We already lost 3 days worth of posts this week.

I'm fairly familiar with you and your operations (former and current) as I visit WHT often so I really can't think of anything else. I would rather the servers be located on the east coast but ping times look pretty good.

That's all I can think of for now. Will be making a decision very shortly.
