Hi Agramus,
So Id say you have a little experience of it

What are your thoughts on its ability to bounce spam.
Does this work as they say (ie the mail bounces, and hopefully gets delisted from spam lists).
Do you get much coming through?

May I also enquire which version your using, the free version or the Pro (paid for)?

I have to find some solution like this for my freeserve/ Wanadoo/ Orange account, its getting horrendous and I dont like using spam filtering as important mails always get tagged and lost

Have version 2, works fine so not considered upgrading.
Bounce.. yes is possible, but do not, as my 'puter savvy
eldest son tells me this just contributes to problem..
Get quite a lot of spam, but can block/mark
email addresses, so they show next time email received.
Best thing is that no unwanted email reaches my inbox, if use
mailwasher first, 'cos delete all not required before that
stage reached. HTH

Thanks for that, tis appreciated.
If anyone else has used this and has any comments id appreciate it.
I get in the region of 400 spam emails a day to the account mentioned above and its just a private account.
Ive never signed up to any form anywhere using it, and it has only been pasted on a forum once by mistake but it is close to 8 years old and I dont want to get rid of it.
Thanks again.

Been using it for years (since early 2003), currently on 5.2, and checking nearly 30 separate mail accounts with it. This latest version seems to be having some timout issues, but that may be because of a recent server change. Good program, bounces are not only ineffective, but as mentioned just adds to the problem. Not recommended.
While it helps considerably, I would not recommend deleting based on it alone, as it does get some false positives. It's a lightweight previewer, and helps mark obvious spam. If you have the ability to filter mail at the server instead of only at Mailwasher, that would be more effective in the long run. I use Spamassassin, as well as some additional filters to prewash it before Mailwasher.
Overall, good investment.

Thanks for your comments bear.
I think ill just use it as a quick way to delete the mail in bulk then.
It seems pretty accurate at tagging the right thing but wouldnt rely solely on it.
