I joined yesterday; I'm on the one dot package. In a way, having this account feels weird because I've had cPanel/WHM dedicated servers since 2002! Indeed, I still have a couple of dedicated servers, but I'm changing their purpose of use etc. etc. and just need a host to throw some of my personal websites on. So I'm here .

I've known about Aussie Bob for a long time, from WHT. HTTPme was indeed very reputable, so as soon as I needed a shared host, I thought of him, and his new company, Dotable.

A little about myself:

Age: 18

Location: UK

Interests: The Internet (of course!), Sports (Football [the real football]), Music, Movies, etc. (generally anything)

Occupation: Student! Will be off to uni in October.

Internet related: like I said earlier, have been playing with dedicated servers running Windows & Linux for many years, have run large forums with thousands of members. Quite experienced with PHP, MySQL, xHTML and CSS, although it's slowly slipping away as I haven't used them much in the last couple of years.

Life goals: Healthy, Educated, Happy and Wealthy . To live in London, NYC and someplace in California at various periods during my life.

Well, that's all I can think of!

Hi everyone,

I'm Edward and I must say it is great to finally find fantastic host that sports it's very own community.

Age: 23

Location: Melb, Australia

Interests: geeky stuff... overclocking, LAN parties... oh and did I mention I have a light sabre? I actually bought one for my friend on his birthday just so that we could have a lightsabre duel.

Occupation: Government - but I believe it's best that I not specify what department.

Greatest Accomplishments: Getting off my feet from heading downhill and becoming a responsible adult.

Greatest Disappointment: I prefer not to focus on that side of life. I prefer to look towards my goals without looking back at past failures.

Life Goal: To be self sufficient (financially) by the time I'm 30 and see the world. (they say it's good to write down your goals, and I must admit this is the first place that I've written it heh).

Lastly, I just would like to say the following:

Aussie Bob ROCKS !! I can't believe he is able to offer such a high level of support. I log support calls, and he answers them or completes them within an hour. My previous experiences with other hosts have been shocking, waiting days for a response or not even getting one at all.

Anyway, I'm a very happy chappy so far and I can see myself being a long term customer.

Thanks Aussie Bob.

- Edward

Welcome N9ne and Edward

So many new people... you'll be able to retire (again) soon Rob (or at least afford a few more children)

I finally have a few minutes to tell you about myself, so here goes;

------------------

Name – David VerHage

Age: 49

Location: Lafayette, Louisiana, USA

Status – I am Married and have 1 Son (starts college in the fall).

Interests: All Things technical.

Occupation:
JOB 1: Service Engineer for General Electric (GE Healthcare), repairing and maintaining MRI Systems. I also provide Networking support (for sharing Medical Data).
JOB 2: Business Owner. My wife and I own an International Import / Export business dealing in Mexican Art (aztec-empire.com). We sell Wholesale and Retail around the world.
JOB 3: WebHosting (VEI Hosting). I provide Websites and Hosting for businesses that market our products (also sites for friends, family and some local Businesses).
JOB 4: Technical Services Manager (Az-Technologies). I provide Technology (internet, telephone, web hosting, etc.) to a group of Merchants that are located within the Market where we have our Retail Operation.

Greatest Accomplishments: Losing 110 pounds (from 300 to 190).

Greatest Disappointment: Not having enough time to enjoy life (see Jobs 1 – 4).

Life Goal: To slow down and enjoy the fruits of my labors. I want to Travel the world with my family.

Basically, I’m just a busy guy. I enjoy the Internet and all that it has to offer. I enjoy repairing things (I’ve been doing it for 30 years, 7 years in the U.S. Navy and 23 with General Electric). Working in MRI keeps me on the edge of technology.

I was very glad to find Dotable (and Aussie Bob). My old host had become very non-responsive and the server had a lot of problems. I did not have time wait for days for a service ticket to get answered (and then ignored). It’s also great to a part of a thriving community again. I'm glad to be here!!!

David
