Howdy all,
Don't really post on here much, been busy lately with a few projects and this place was wind above my head from Summer unfortunately.. Going to try and start lurking around again as there's a lot of useful and helpful information. What I'm really after though, is some info on setting up a newsletter mailer on one of my websites. I understand there may be concerns regarding bulk email lists and the like, but all I'm really after is a simple HTML email Newsletter which people can freely subscribe and unsubscribe to. My intention is to send out regular (monthly?) emails with a splash of colour and a graphic or two, with news on up-coming events and information regarding the club. (The website is a local Mini club, of a sort.) No idea how many subscriptions, but it’ll probably not even reach 100. Does anybody have any recommendations or any advice regarding this sort of thing on the server? Thanks Darren |

You could always just use your own email client. Subscribe/unsubscribes are not instant of course (unless you are online) but that has worked well for me with smaller lists in the past.
There's also http://groups.google.com/ which is of course free. I'm not sure whether it can handle html emails but it's worth a look.

Dadamail is probably the best option.
I have also used this simple simple simple php one called txtlist. It's very easy to use / install etc. Requires no db, just 1 config and you're good to go. http://txtbox.co.za/p_txtlist.php But if you want the best free option try dadamail. For the best best best service out there try www.campaignmonitor.com. These guys are an awesome Aussie-based company who are going great things. Unfortunately this is a bit of a costly option ($5 to send a campaign + 1cent per recipient.) but it's definately the best by far! |

I also would recommend Dadamail, or if you want a hosted solution, try YMLP (www.ymlp.com). Dadamail is free and resides on your server. YMLP is hosted on a remote server--they have a free version and a paid version.
