Default Vegemite Banned in America!

The FDA has banned the import of Vegemite:

I guess they believe all those Aussies are poisoning themselves. While in Australia I did eat Vegemite a few times but... I don't miss it

Strange world - it reminds me of something similar in the UK where supermarkets couldn't stock bananas if they had too much curvature

It was some EU ruling or something - good for a laugh though.

Strange as Vegemite is produced and owned by the American company Kraft

Britain better not ban it or I'll be really ticked off.

Excellent!

Vegemite is pretty easy to get over here. One thing I cannot get and miss is Eta barbecue sauce.

It depends on if you are an Australian or not Vegemite is to Aussies what Peanut Butter is to Americans. To everyone but Aussies, the stuff is pretty gross (salty, yeasty, etc) although I can see how it might grow on you.

You should google the word vegemite and learn more.

BTW, an update: http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sto...14-662,00.html
