Default I have my ADSL back!!

After moving into our new home, Telstra told us we couldn't get ADSL there, and it was back to dialup for Bob, from home.

To cut a looooong story short, they upgraded something in our area, and sent us an SMS today, letting us know that ADSL is now available. I jumped online, and boy, it's great to be back on 1.5MBPS from 56k dial up speed. That was a painful transition from ADSL back to dialup.

Feels so great to be back on ADSL. Feel like a kid riding the new bike on Christmas morning.

hehe, yeah, it's nice to be back on broadband. All those downloadable funny videos I couldn't download before, I can now.

Ahhhh, it's all coming together.

Congratulations Rob I know I couldn't go back to dialup now that I've had a taste of broadband here in the UK.

(in January I'll be able to upgrade from 1.5mbps to 24mbps!) :p

Crikey. What would you do with 24MBPS?

It will be great for watching movies, downloading etc. For general websites it shouldn't make all that much difference. It's pretty cheap too - £24 a month unlimited.

I can't get over how cheap it is there. So around AUS$80/mth for 24MBPS?

No way - about AUS$56 (on todays rate).

Actually I can't get over how cheap a lot of things are here. I had always heard that the UK was very expensive but I've found the opposite.

Wow, that's cheap. Kinda realising how far behind the rest of the developed world Australia is, with its rollout of broadband services.

Everywhere has it's downsides though. I've found quite a few things over here that are incredibly frustrating and that Australia is well ahead on.

You have to take the good with the bad and just try to do your little part to fix the things that you don't like

Still, 24mbps broadband will rock!
