Question Uranus server?

Ok, we're working through the planets for server names, and we're coming up to Uranus. I remember with httpme, that we skipped Uranus for a server name, as some said they wouldn't want to be on a server called Uranus, for umm, certian reasons. What do you say? Is it bad to be on a server named Uranus?

I'd find it funny... but it wouldn't bother me

I wouldn't have a problem with it.

My only concern would be whether some spam filters may pick up on the name from email headers and consider email coming from it to be spam.

I have a friend who's surname is Hiscock. He has a difficult time registering for email accounts, messenger usernames and other online services (even making purchases at some online stores!) because many of these services have filters in place which look at a certain part of his surname, consider it to be rude and tell him to pick something else. As such, he has to use a fictitious surname quite often.

Crikey, I never thought of that. Good point.

I would have no problem with it but happy I got in on Jupiter I would hope that spam filters would realize it is a the name of a planet and not some other reference. My 6 year old daughter spent the school year learning about the solar system and last week they had a presentation to the parents of their planetarium. One little kid had the job of reporting on Uranus and pronounced it as Your-xxxx with little smiles from all the parents I'm not sure he realized what he was saying but then he probably thought it was a golden opportunity to get away with being a little devil

It's only a name after all, it should not matter. If a client really has a problem with it, maybe just put that client on another server?

But do check out what Josh said above about spam filters etc. If it really has an effect, then it's a different story.

I'd get a kick out of telling people my sites are on Uranus Then again, I've always been a little strange

Not complaining I'm on Jupiter, though

You should just start going with comets and meteors. That way when servers go down you can be like "Haley's comet hit Earth"
