Unhappy Where have I been

My wife, Marilyn, was unable to post to this forum when all hell broke loose. Apparently the open wireless network at the hospital as some funny security setup she was unable to overrule.

Please check out another (very similar) forum to read about what happened to me (http://www.httpme.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=252678). Sorry my Dotable friends were left out of the loop.

Regards,

Good GOLLY! Molly!

Dave,

Quit messing around and get back t'home!

So sorry to hear about the hospital time. But, glad to hear you are doing better. I always knew that 'vacations' weren't all they were cracked up to be. Now, I know for sure.

Blessings on you, Marilyn and all the rest of your family.

If I can be of any assistance with anything, just let me know.

Paul

I am out of the woods and on the mend. Not sure how long it will be before I'll be pain free again. I still have a G-tube coming out of my stomach which the surgeon in Boston figured would be there for at least a month.

I made it home last night after a 7 hour drive. It would normally take 5 hours but we made many stops along the way to give me a break. It was painful but I am so glad to be home.

I have a bunch of appointments being scheduled to follow-up on this medical surprise (as my 81 y.o. dad likes to cal them). The first one is this afternoon.

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers during this time.

Basically, my small intestine somehow looped on itself causing a constriction shutting off all blood flow to it. The surgeon said that when she opened me up, the whole small intestine looked dead. When she removed the constrction, she was actually surprised that it all "pinked up" again. She said I was very lucky we got there in time because she did not have any way to save me if the intestine had not survived.

Crikey Dave, that's horrible. Man, hoping your recovery is fast and smooth. Do you know what caused the small intestine to do that?
