The response was that, statistically, I am no more likely to have it happen to me again than for someone else to have it happen to them. I have no idea what the statistics say about how many people get to experience this or how many people survive it

That's just disconcerting that they don't know what caused it.

Just shows you that our doctors did not go more as they did 200 years ago. Bloody highly paid mechanics they are!

All the best to you Dave!
By the way I have same sort of a problem with my truck here mechanic said it is because COMPUTER do not know how much petrol it should send to engine(what a heap of crap!) And I had to pay 3.5K for this...
They did changed the motor by invoice....
Smile anyway

'Practice'. Hmmm :S

Every time I go to a Doctor, they just tell me I have a problem! Then they give me Drugs!

I just don't go anymore, I feel much better without anyone telling me I'm sick.

Dave,

I am so glad to hear that you are back at it. And, one thing about their diagnosis/prognosis , It could have been something that had the word 'terminal' attached to it.

So, look at this as a really bad tummy ache! It sounds like we will be hearing you on here for a long time to come.

FANTASTIC!

Have a great 'Thanksgiving' day (if you do it) ! I'm sure you and your family have been thankful for days, now.

Hi Paul,

Yes, we are very thankful this Thanksgiving season. I am continuing to recover and now feel I am out of the woods with regard to pain. I am able to get a good nights sleep again! I still am on heavy pain killers but it is time to start ramping down on those.

Thank you and everyone else for words of encouragement and concern. I am thankful for my friends and family both online and off.

Too bad I can't eat everything on the Thanksgiving table this year. I still need to restrict my diet until my follow-up appointment next week. Oh well, at least I can still complain about things like that
