Wierd thing is the ADSL2 plan they offer costs around the same as the plan I'm on now, so it's a no brainer to upgrade. Watch out Steve.

Hi Bob,

Which company is offering ADSL2+ in your area and at what price. Never ever go with Telstra

Previously, I was with Internode and now with iinet. Both of the services are flawless so far for me.

Hey Aaron

I'm with Telstra now and no complaints. I think over the last 2 yrs (ish) there's been 2 outages. Now I have the mobile broadband for the laptop incase the ADSL is out.

I was thinking about going with Telstra's ADSL2 service. It's not much extra per mth, and they reckon I'll get around 10Mbps service. I pay $99.95/mth now, for their 25GB 1.5Mbps plan. I'll pay $119.95/mth with their 25GB ADSL2 plan. There are cheaper providers out there, but most of them resell from Telstra's exchanges, so I figure I'll deal with the source.

Dear Bob,

From what I understand, these providers install their own equipment (DSLAM) for ADSL2. Only the copper line still belongs to Telstra. Usually, I try to recommend other providers if they are available instead of Telstra due to very bad experiences in the past.

Anyway, if you are currently very happy with the service, no point fixing something that aint broken since Dotable depends solely on your ADSL connection.

Reliable ADSL is paramount, but I personally have the wireless broadband on my laptop for backup net access.

Same story.. but i’ve got
homeline/128up(bit sucks)/max down(6-7Mb-avrg.)/ and
free national calls, - all for 70NZD/month.
Orcon that is. Free National calls already gave me at least 2 clients.

By the way Vodafone in New Zealand give you free 1 Gb traffic limit, and other - way overpriced options. They kind a proud of it according to their website here.
No wonder Japs kick them out from their island. ))
P.S. No offence to Japanese people here! Well done!

Yeah I'm on Orcon Max/Max - watch out for voip plans coming out in Feb 2008 - further cuts to the phone bill there (with naked dsl, no phone line rent on top).

Vodafone/Ihug Suck..
