Default My server is down

Ok firstly, please don't panic. We monitor all Dotable servers 24x7 and the helpdesk is manned 24x7 too, so there's no need to panic if you can't access your site or if your server is down.

If you cannot access your sites, please follow the following procedure to check if there is an issue with the Dotable server.

Access Alertra's Spotcheck service, and test your domain there. This will check if your site is able to be accessed from multiple geographical locations.

If the spotcheck shows your site is able to be accessed from multiple locations, then it looks like the issue could be between your ISP and the Dotable network. Please submit a ticket with a tracert showing us the path between your ISP and the Dotable network. To do a tracert, open up your command line box (if on a windows PC) and type tracert yourdomain.com then press enter. Copy and paste that output into a ticket.

If the spotcheck results show that your site is not able to be accessed from multiple locations, then your server is probably down. There is no need to submit a ticket on the Dotable helpdesk, because we would already know the server has stopped responding. We post all server issues in each server forum, so be sure to check your server forum for announcements.

Also make sure that you're subscribed to your server forum, so you're instantly emailed when we post an announcement in your server forum.
