Who owns Dotable?

Dotable is owned by the UK2Group.

When did Dotable commence operations?

Dotable commenced operations in April 2005. Our growth has been mainly organic, through word of mouth from our many hundreds of satisfied Dotable clients.

How many domains are currently hosted by Dotable?

As of May 2007, Dotable provides hosting to approximately 15,000 separate domains.

What type of servers will my sites be hosted on?

Dotable servers are state of the art 2U Rackmount AMD Dual Opteron Dual core servers, 4MB cache, 8.0GB ECC RAM, 4 x 500GB SATAII drives with hardware RAID1 for hard drive redundancy, and 2 x 550w hot swap redundant Power Supply Units.

Does Dotable display its uptime stats for all Dotable servers?

Yes, you can see our uptime stats for all Dotable servers, from a 3rd party monitoring provider, here.

Where are Dotable's servers located?

Dotable utilises datacenter space in Los Angeles, USA. More information here.

Will Dotable move my sites over from my existing host for free?

Yes, we can move your sites over from your existing host. There is no charge for this migration service, for up to 25 domains. For us to move your domains over to the Dotable server, your current host must be using Cpanel.

How can I pay for my Dotable account?

You can pay for your Dotable account using your credit card, PayPal, cheque, money order or Western Union wire transfer. You can see a history of all invoices paid, in your Dotable Billing and Tech support centre. You can also choose to pay every 3 months (2.5% discount), every 6 months (5% discount) and every 12 months (10% discount). Flexibility is the name of the game, with the Dotable billing system.

Does Dotable allow adult or pornographic sites on their servers?

No, we do not allow Adult hosting or hosting of pornographic and sexually explicit sites on the Dotable servers. Adult sites are strictly prohibited from Dotable servers.

Can I buy domains from Dotable?

Yes, you can buy domain names from our Domains brand. Domains start at AUS$20.00/yr for .com and .net, and AUS$50/yr for .com.au domains. We have some of Australia's most affordable domain names.

How long does it take to establish an account?

New accounts are created and dispatched in under 6 hours. Most times it's much less than that, but please allow 6 hours from the time you complete the order form, to the time your Dotable welcome email arrives.

Can I read testimonials from real Dotable clients?

Is there a money back guarantee?

Dotable offers a no risk 30 day Money Back Guarantee. If you are not satisfied with our service, in the first 60 days and wish to cancel, we will issue you a full refund of your original purchase price, less transaction charges incurred by Dotable. We also offer pro-rata refunds for 3mth, 6mth and 12mth payment terms. So for example, if you decide to pay every 12mths, and want to cancel 9mths down the track, we will pro-rata your refund for the 3 unused months.

How do I get technical or billing support?

When you receive your Dotable welcome email, you'll see your access information for the secure Dotable Helpdesk. Our helpdesk is staffed 24x7x365. Here you can view and pay invoices, and also submit support tickets to our support staff. Our helpdesk is secured with a 128bit secured connection, for additional security.

For non-sensitive support, we offer the Dotable Support Forum. There you can help, and be helped, by other Dotable clients and Dotable staff. You can also use the Dotable Live Chat, for technical or billing support. Dotable has an extensive Knowledge Base, at your disposal. There you can watch live demo movies, and read articles related to your Dotable hosting account.

Is safemode on or off on your servers?

Safemode is off.

Do you have rDNS on your mail servers?

Yes, rDNS is setup on all the main IPs for Dotable's servers.

Can register_globals be set on/off from .htaccess?

Yes.

Can I have SSH enabled?

Yes, you can have SSH activated on domains that you control. If you're a reseller, then you cannot have SSH activated for domains not owned by you. SSH is only activated if the domains are your own, or you are the manager. SSH is not activated for resold domains. You must request SSH be enabled from the Dotable helpdesk.

phpsuexec is off I understand, but are you likely to introduce it??

Yes, phpsuexec is off, and no we won't be introducing it.

Does Dotable support PHP5, MySQL5 and Ruby on Rails?

Yes, PHP5, MySQL5 and Ruby on Rails are supported.

Does Dotable provide Windows hosting?

No, we don't offer Windows based hosting.

Does Dotable offer dedicated servers?

Yes, our dedicated servers are listed here.

How do I get started with Dotable?

Simply complete the order form from the Products page link, and your new Dotable account will be dispatched in a maximum of 6 hours, to the email address that you have supplied.
