Default Upgrades

In around 24 hours from this post, we will be carrying out the following upgrades and enhancements.

1. Kernel Upgrades - All servers will be upgraded to 2.6.19.2
2. PHP 5 will be upgraded to version 5.2.0 - Please see the php changelogs for details regarding this release http://www.php.net/ChangeLog-5.php#5.2.0
3. PHP 4 will be patched and recompiled, to prevent common exploits and email header injections via poorly coded php scripts.
4. Windows Servers will be rebooted in order to install security updates.

Each server will require a reboot in order to install the new kernel, an announcement will be made within each servers announcement forum when the upgrade is being completed.

Josh,

If you want the php patches, sure, log a ticket for that. You are already running 5.2.0 and 4.4.4

You are runing debian, most customers are running centos and kernel upgrades would be taken care of by the package management (we don't compile custom kernels by default on vps's and let customers know when the package needs an update.)

Ok, thanks. I think my server is ok then. I don't actually use php4 anyway now and won't be so was even thinking of getting it removed completely at some stage so that zend could be used with php5.

The php5 upgrades have been completed, doing the kernels at present.

Windows servers have been updated.

The php4 patch will be done tomorrow (in around another 24 hours) due to my preparation for this upgrade being dented a little by yesterdays events at CCLA.

These upgrades are all completed.

The php patches were not rolled out fully, due to problems detected during the final testing stage. We may push the patches out at a later date however when the issues (php seg faults) are ironed out.
